Local Transportation & Parking

Jacksonville is a large, spread out city. The meeting hotel is located in downtown Jacksonville about 20 miles from the airport and about 15 miles from the beaches. The St. Johns River flows through downtown dividing the area into the south bank and the north bank. The hotel and banquet restaurant are on the south bank and the library is on the north bank.

Getting from the hotel to the library

Skyway

Jacksonville
Most of the downtown area and area around the hotel is easily accessible by taxi, water taxi, Skyway, or walking. The Skyway is this Jacksonville Transportation Authority's monorail system. The most convenient way to get from the hotel to the library is on the Skyway from the Riverplace station across from the hotel to the Hemming Plaza Station. The main entrance to the library is just across the plaza. The fare each way is $.50.

Water Taxi
If you'd prefer a short cruise to the library and back check out the water taxi. The cost is $3.00 one way and $5.00 round trip. From the hotel, the closest stop is a 5-10 minute walk behind the Wyndham hotel. Take the taxi to the Landing then head north for 5 blocks on Laura Street. The library will be on right. Water taxis run approximately every 20 minutes starting at 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Thursday and 11:00 am until 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Driving
Parking is available close to the library both on the street(meters) and pay parking surface lots and a parking garage. Parking is free at all metered spots after 6 p.m ($.25/30 mins before 6). week nights and all day Saturday and Sunday. The parking lot ($4.50/day) is located at the Northeast corner of Main and Duval Streets and the parking garage ($10+/day) is located on Duval Street between Main Street and Laura Street. Walking
For the more adventurous, the library is about 1¼ mile walk from the hotel. From the entrance of the hotel head West on Prudential Drive, cross under the Main Street Bridge overpass. Turn right on South Main Street and go North across the Main Street Bridge. Once you are across the bridge keep going straight on Main Street. The library's conference level entrance will be 5 blocks up on the left (just after you cross Adams Street).

Getting to the Restaurant from the Hotel or Library

Skyway
The River City Brewing Company is located at the San Marco Skyway stop. When you exit the station, go south on San Marco Blvd about 2 blocks. The restaurant will be in front of you, to the right of Friendship Fountain.

Water Taxi
From the Jacksonville Landing take the water taxi to the Friendship Fountain stop. The River City Brewing Company will be to your right once you exit the boat.

Driving
Parking is available at no cost at The River City Brewing Company.
From the library: Take Main Street south across the Main Street bridge. Take the 1st exit. At the light turn right. Go straight to the round-about and take the first right. The parking lot for the restaurant will be on your left.
From the hotel: From the hotel go right on Prudential Ave to San Marco Blvd. Turn right on San Marco Blvd. Go straight until you reach the round-about. Procede straight through the round-about. The parking lot for the restaurant will be on your left.

Walking
From the library head south on Main Street and cross over the Main Street Bridge. Turn right when you come off the bridge. Walk along the river past Friendship Fountain to The River City Brewing Company. Access to the river walk is limited near the hotel. Check with the front desk at the hotel if you'd like to walk along the river to the restaurant.
