The Sunshine State Young Reader's Award Program is a Florida reading motivation program for students in grades 3-8. The program, co-sponsored by the School Library Media Services Office of the Department of Education and the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME), began in 1983. Qualifying books must be published within the past three years and written by an American author.

Each school year, students who have read enough books qualify to vote on the best books representing their reading level ranges (3rd-5th and 6th-8th grades). During the 2003-04 school year, over 101,000 students statewide qualified to participate.

The winning titles are announced at the beginning of each school year.
