Purpose: Irrevocably intertwined with Jacksonville's past, present and future, the St. John's River represents an economic engine, source of leisure and object of beauty all at once. The citizens who live here deserve to be aware of the heritage that the St. Johns brings to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Public Library's role in support of Mayor Peyton's River Accord initiative is what we do best - supply access to information. JPL is spearheading the "Year of the River."
