Assistant Director For Facilities

Description:The Library Director and Deputy Director with an Administrative Team of seven senior executives comprise the senior management of the Jacksonville Public Library. The Assistant Director for Facilities is a member of this senior team. This is an appointed position reporting to the Library Director. The position is responsible for the 21 facilities which comprise the Library system, their maintenance, capital improvements, and security. The Assistant Director must work in close collaboration with the City’s Public Works and Public Buildings Department in maintaining the facilities. This position is responsible for completing a 20 year plan for library facilities, which is currently in development and with updating the plan to reflect future community needs and changes in the delivery of library services.

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management or a related field with at least 8 years of experience in managing multiple facilities including custodial services, daily maintenance (pest control, landscape management, plumbing etc.) and preventive maintenance. Experience in design and construction of public use buildings such as retail including libraries would be a plus. Preference given to a candidate holding a certification as a Facilities Management Administrator. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity. Strong communication skills.

Starting salary is $60,500 annually, pay offered will depend upon experience.

Technical Services Librarian

Description: This is professional librarian work at the graduate level working in website design and maintenance. Job responsibilities include: development and maintenance of all areas of the library’s public website; maintenance of JAXCAT the library’s public catalog; assist in configuration of Integrated Library System (Sirsi); and provide training to library staff on ILS related topics.

Requires a Masters Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program. Preferred Skills: Experience in maintaining, operating and expanding use of an integrated library system specifically SIRSI Unicorn and/or SIRSI Symphony.

Starting salary $35,000 annual, pay offered will depend upon experience.
