Text Notification for Holds

For customers with the ability to receive text messages, the Jacksonville Public Library can now send hold notices via text message:

  • Only hold notices can be sent at this time.
  • The Jacksonvillle Public Library is not responsible for any fees/charges incurred should you go over your plan limits.
  • Do not text back to the sending number. This is an automated service and you will not receive a response.
  • Text hold notices will replace email and phone notifications, so you will no longer receive an email nor will you be notified by phone when requested items are available.
  • It is your responsibility to check your device frequently for any hold notices. If your phone number changes, please notify the library in order to continue to receive hold notices via texting. Invalid texting numbers are removed from the system on a regular basis.
  • Be sure to add 904-630-1265 and label it Library Notices so that you can recognize the number.
