It provides name, rank, regiment, company and state. Included are all Confederate soldiers from all branches from all Confederate states. Also included will be guidelines and tables for further researching and identifying Confederate soldiers and units.

The reports contained in the 128 volumes of (and the 100-volume supplement to) the Official Records are those of the principal leaders who fought the battles and then wrote their assessments days, weeks, and sometimes months later. The Official Records are thus the eyewitness accounts of the veterans themselves.
Roll of Honor: Names of Soldiers who Died in Defense of the American Union, Interred in the National Cemeteries.

From 1865 to 1871, the U.S. Quartermaster's Department published the 27-volume Roll of Honor series, a listing of the names of over 300,000 Union soldiers buried in national cemeteries, garrison cemeteries, soldiers' lots, and private graveyards, more than two- thirds of the men having been disinterred from their original burial sites on or near the various battlefields.

Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States

This 70-volume set contains first-hand Union accounts as the M.O.L.L.U.S. volumes were written by men who were active participants in the Civil War. The M.O.L.L.U.S. volumes were published 1887-1915 with illustrations, portraits, maps, and plans. This reprint contains biographical sketches and pictures of the contributors, and a thorough, every name cumulative index.

This work is the result of many years of intensive research relying on the compiled service records, diaries, family and local histories, descendants' letters, wartime newspapers and diaries, etc. The compiler created a biographical record for the Confederate and Union soldiers who served in Florida units during the Civil War. The biographical sketches vary from brief descriptions (name, rank, date of birth, and date of enlistment and discharge) to the very complete and informative.

Florida State Archives Record Group 137, Series 587. 107 rolls. Most files contain the original application, any supplemental applications, proof of service and residency, and occasional correspondence between the applicant and the Board. Veterans' applications generally include name, date and place of birth, unit dates and places of enlistment and discharge, brief description of service, wounds received, sworn statements on proof of service by comrades, War Department service abstracts, and place and length of Florida residency. Widows' applications generally include, in addition to the above, her full name, date and place of marriage to the veteran, and date and place of the veteran's death. Widows' applications are filed under the name of the veteran.
