State Supervisor of Negro Work, NYA inviting workers to attend a social gathering at the Center
on West Duval Street. Mrs. Dwight was in charge of the program (July 25, 1938).
The National
Youth Administration (NYA) was a federal agency created in 1935 to offer youth
between the ages of 16 and 24
job oportunities during
the Depression. It offered work study relief for the young in school, work
relief and vocational training for those out of school.
