Monday, October 1: Location: FCCJ Downtown Campus, Advanced Technology Center (ATC), Rooms 140-141; Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; Dr. Brenda Robinson Simmons, Hurston scholar and Florida Community College North Campus's Executive Dean, will give a presentation on Zora Neale Hurston's life, times, and work and facilitate a book discussion about Their Eyes Were Watching God. FCCJ's Gospel Concert Chorale will perform from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. immediately before Dr. Simmons' presentation. Open to the public. For 15- 20 minutes following her presentation, Prof. Hurston will sign copies of "Speak So You Can Speak Again", her award-winning biography of her aunt.
