The Public Information Division

provides media relations services for city departments,

creates and distributes internal and external communications, including an employee newsletter,
-
coordinates most of the city's press releases and printed items (both photographic and written),
-
helps staff the Emergency Information Center and provide updated emergency information, and
-
manages Web site content.
The division maintains the city's customer service call center at (904) 630-CITY. It also houses the Cable Television Franchise Manager, providing a link between the cable service provider and its customers.

*A public record is broadly defined in the Florida Statutes as "all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, data processing software, or other material, regardless of the physical form, characteristics, or means of transmission, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business by any agency." [119.011(1), F.S.]
